Sending Flowers to Family in Damascus from Abroad

1 min read

For Syrians abroad: how to get a bouquet to family in Damascus, write the address the Damascene way, and arrange payment so the recipient pays nothing.

Many Syrians live far from their families, and flowers are a simple way to be present on the days that matter — Mother's Day on 21 March, Eid, birthdays, graduations.

Two ways to send

  • A florist listed on Wslak: pick a bouquet on the flower delivery page, enter the recipient's address and phone, and write the card message in the notes.
  • Any florist you trust: agree the bouquet with them and have them deliver it with Wslak Send.

Payment

Payment is currently cash on delivery. If the recipient should pay nothing, prepay the florist directly, have them choose that the sender pays the delivery fee, and write "paid — do not collect" in the notes.

The address

Damascus addresses work by landmark, not street number: area, nearest landmark (a mosque, school, pharmacy), building and floor. A working phone number for the recipient matters more than anything.

Timing

Order a day ahead around Valentine's Day and Mother's Day, and in summer ask for a morning or late-afternoon delivery so the flowers arrive fresh.
